It seems like almost every successful musical artist-- Christian or not--feels an obligation to record Christmas music at some point and I often wonder why. I mean, how many different ways can you remake "Silent Night," right? But then I...

Clayton Ring did a wonderful job on “How Can I Keep From Singing”. I couldn’t help but notice that he was smiling the entire time he was singing. It was great to see that. His joy and happiness rubbed off on me. Great job, Clayton! This is the J-Life performance to Casting Crowns “Who Am I” on May 31st. I was hoping Greg would post this, because it was such a standout performance. Pastor Joel is in negotiations to host a primetime reality series based on his Sunday sermons. Hey, everybody! So, what's going on? I have been on YouTube for a while tonight and I have really gotten into watching videos from Casting Crowns. These guys have a way of getting right to the heart with their music. They are skilled, they are humble, and they do it all for the glory of God. That's a good combo if you ask me. So many people ask me about my plans for the future, and with Ashley. Just today I went to Wal-Mart (there WILL be one in heaven- mark it down) and I saw probably 5 people that asked me about my plans. Well, here goes. I will be moving to Pensacola, FL, on June 6. I start work for the college I graduated from in their Promotions department. I am ECSTATIC about this opportunity, because I love people, I love young people, and I love to talk to people, so this suits me well. As far as music is concerned, I am confident God will open the door that He wants me to go through. I will be working full time for the college, so traveling while I am down there will be slim. I will have a family to support, and an extra mouth to feed (my wife), so I will have to work a lot. I have a few churches down there that want me to come out and sing when time permits, and I am thankful. I take my calling seriously. When the opportunity arises to sing for Him, I want to do all that I can. Sometimes I have to say no. It happened today. A lady called me wanting to book me for a date this coming week, and I had to decline for lack of time. After I tell people this I get the two-word question that I hate hearing: "then what?" Well, I would like to know that myself. God has a way of letting you know where to go at the right time-HIS TIME. I know God will guide, as well as provide. How do I know? Past experience. Present proof. Future promises. That's how we know. That's why we trust Him. read more »
Some may be questioning why I'm reviewing a contemporary project on a southern gospel blog. I have two reasons. #1 - Michael English got his start as Mike English belting out songs for the Goodmans and the Singing Americans int he early 80's. Can't get much more SoGo than that! #2 - it's my blog, and I'll review it if I want to! Being a reputable source of information is important to me, but there are times where executive decision making takes a backseat to the fan boy. read more »
